In this guide, I’ll share the best website templates for therapists that come free with the Wix website builder. You’ll also learn how to pick the right template for your new private practice website.

5 Best Wix Website Templates for Therapists

Wix is one of the more affordable and beginner-friendly website-building tools around, making it a popular choice among private practice therapists looking for an easy way to launch their new website.

One advantage Wix has over other tools is that it offers 25 free website templates designed specifically for counsellors, psychotherapists, and other mental health professionals.

I recently spent time trying out each one of these templates and found that while some were fantastic, others left a lot to be desired.

In this guide, I’ll explain why the five templates showcased are the best options for private practice business owners. I’ve also included a video showing you every pixel and feature of each template so that you can get a better idea of whether it’s right for you.

How to Pick The Best Private Practice Website Templates on Wix

Below, I’ll outline the four criteria I used to separate the best Wix templates from the rest.

I recommend using these same criteria when choosing one for your new site.

Design

The hardest challenge I faced in creating this guide was putting my own aesthetic preferences aside and choosing templates that would appeal to different types of therapists.

There were some options that, while I thought they were stunningly beautiful, wouldn’t necessarily appeal to the majority of therapists I know.

So, I put those aside in favor of showing a wide range of different styles and design choices.

As you go through this guide, or through the Wix template library, I suggest looking at options that best reflect the style and branding of your practice.

For example, some templates have a natural, earthy theme which makes them ideal if your work or personal branding is inspired by nature and the great outdoors.

Meanwhile, others feature a clean, minimalist aesthetic that works great for presenting a polished, professional image.

Though every design can be fully customized, finding one that already speaks to who you are as a therapist certainly makes life easier.

Features

Wix includes a full library of tools that you can use to include functional, interactive features on your website.

This includes things like appointment booking capabilities, client resource libraries, and even podcasting features.

Though you add each of these tools (and more) to any theme of your choosing, you’ll have an easier time building your site by picking a website template that already includes the tools you need.

Before you dive in, it pays to think about what features and services you want to offer your clients. That way, you can pick a template that meets your needs right out of the box.

Usability

Speaking of meeting needs, nothing will make or break the success of your website than its user-friendliness.

While analyzing the 25 website templates for therapists offered by Wix, I put myself in the mindset of a potential client. I looked for those that made it easy to find the information I was looking for, book an appointment, and use other interactive features.

Naturally, if a website makes it difficult to do any of those things, your clients will have a poor user experience and may decide to look somewhere else for their therapy needs.

When picking your own template, I recommend you do the same.

Imagine you’re a client visiting your website for the first time. Can they easily navigate your site, making a booking, and access resources?

If so, you’re onto a winner.

Mobile-Friendliness

As you’ll see in each of the videos I’ve included below, I tested both the desktop and mobile versions of every template. Those that looked messy or performed poorly on mobile devices didn’t make the cut.

After all, if you read my recent deep dive into 10 essential marketing statistics for therapists, you’ll know that more people are using their phones to access websites than ever before.

In fact, 67.6% of Internet users’ online time is spent on mobile devices. So, if those users have a poor experience when they visit your site on a smartphone, that’s a further obstacle to them becoming paying clients.

As you explore these templates for yourself, be sure to switch to the mobile icon to see how your site would look on a smartphone.

5 Best Wix Website Templates for Therapists

1. Relationship Coach

Relationship Coach really stood out as the all-round best website template for therapists thanks to its bold, modern design and set of user-friendly features.

Perfect for therapists looking to establish a personal brand, this one comes with built-in video and audio podcasting features that beautifully show off your content marketing efforts.

Combine that with a beautiful, mobile-friendly design, and a simple header that puts your Call to Action (CTA) front and center, you’ll find a lot to like about Relationship Coach.

  • Stylish, modern design
  • Audio and video content tools
  • In-build booking tools and client resources section.

2. Physiotherapist

I’m a sucker for a good video header, so I was immediately drawn to the Physiotherapist template.

As you’ll see below, video headers create immediate visual interest, grabbing visitors’ attention from the get-go and compelling them to stick around.

The color pallet and design layout may be a little basic, but these can be fully customized to keep your audience’s interest once they get past the video.

That said, you may prefer the simple style as it allows key features like live chat, FAQs, and appointment booking to all take center stage.

  • Appointment booking and client download features.

3. Therapist

The Therapist website template isn’t my personal favorite from an aesthetic style perspective.

However, I can certainly see how its block-based layout and minimalist approach will appeal to those of you looking for a template that is both professional and friendly. What’s more, the design of this one does score top marks in the user-friendliness categories.

Go with this theme, and your visitors will have no problem finding exactly what they’re looking for.

4. Health Coach

The Health Coach template comes with a bold sticky header which ensures your main navigation menu and Call to Action remain visible no matter how far down the page your users scroll.

These are usually great for improving usability, ensuring clients never have a problem finding key sections of your site. Unfortunately, one small problem with this sticky header is that it’s a little too big on the desktop version.

On the other hand, the mobile version of this template looks amazing, and in this day and age, that’s perhaps more important.

Elsewhere, you’ll find that the organic, nature-inspired design makes it a great fit if your work focuses on the healing power of the great outdoors.

Key Highlights:

  • Attractive, mobile-first design
  • Sticky header
  • Includes features to sell pre-packaged courses via your website.

5. Psychotherapist

The Psychotherapist template also features a useful sticky header.

However, its transparent background tends to clash with its otherwise beautifully clean design.

Fortunately, this is easy to fix by using the customization options to reduce the transparency.

If I were using this theme, that’s certainly one of the first things I’d do to improve the user-friendliness and overall design quality.

Other than that, you’ll find that this is one of the most professional-looking therapist website templates Wix has to offer, making it ideal for creating a strong first impression.

As you’ll see in the video below, it also looks amazing on mobile:

  • Integrated podcasting features

Picking the Best Website Templates for Therapists on Wix – A Final Word of Advice

Hopefully, the five website templates for therapists I’ve shared in this guide will have inspired you to start thinking about all the possibilities that await when using Wix to build your private practice website.

Before I bid you farewell today, there’s one final point I feel is worth mentioning:

Each one of these templates can be fully customized to better reflect your practice.

Like everything but the color scheme? You can change it. Love the design of one template even though it doesn’t offer all the interactive tools you need? You can add them in.

Knowing this can make a big difference when picking your template.

You don’t necessarily have to be a physiotherapist to use the Physiotherapist template, nor do you have to specialize in health coaching to use the Health Coaching template.

You can simply use these as a blueprint you can build upon to create a site that resonates with your audience, converts new clients, and helps you achieve the ultimate goal of growing your practice.
